Announcing the 2007 AMCP/FMCP/Pfizer Inc Managed Care
Pharmacy Summer Internship Program!
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), in conjunction with the Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy, and under the auspices of Pfizer Inc, has made available twelve managed care internships for the summer of 2007. The goal of the program is to enhance a student's awareness of career options in managed care pharmacy practice settings or within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by direct hands-on involvement. Ten managed care organizations and two VA medical centers will each host an intern for this program.
Each pharmacy student will participate in a preceptorship program, working at a managed care organization or at a VA medical center. Students will complete a structured rotation, and will be required to present a poster at AMCP's Educational Conference in October 2007.
To be eligible for the AMCP/FMCP/Pfizer Managed Care Pharmacy Summer Internship Program, a student must be enrolled full-time in an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy during the 2006-2007 school year, with anticipated graduation in 2008 or 2009 with a PharmD degree. Three letters of recommendation must be supplied with each application, one from the dean of the school, one from a faculty member and one from a non-relative pharmacist. Applications and letters of recommendation must be postmarked by January 29, 2007. The internship must be completed within a ten-week period between May and August 2007.
A PDF file of the application is attached to this email, and may be distributed to all interested students.
